Growing the game of Box Lacrosse in England
Box Lacrosse, or Box Lax, is the fastest growing, fastest moving sport in the world. It is based on the traditional North American Indian game of lacrosse that is played by boys and girls in schools around the world, by men and women in more than 52 countries, and professionally in North America by men, women and disabled athletes.
Box Lacrosse is a modern version of the game, designed to match sporting expectations in the 21st century. It is fast, very fast. Played with sticks, nets, defence and attack specialist equipment, and a hard ball on a six-a-side soccer style indoor or outdoor pitch. It has the speed and athleticism of basketball, the energy and physicality of ice hockey, and the action and focus of a computer game.

England Box Lacrosse aims to be the high point of achievement for the sport in this country. We support player development, increased participation and extending access to all – leading by example in all aspects of the game to raise standards and grow the audience.
The England men’s team are current European Champions and ranked 4th in the world.
The upcoming 2024 World Championships will see the first ever women’s championships, running in parallel with the men’s championships, in September 2024 in Utica, USA.
Both the men’s and women’s programmes are almost entirely self-funded. We rely on our committed players, donors, sponsors and dedicated fundraisers.
